The Dirac takes the contours of the Halo, the size of the UTX-85 (just a bit smaller) and a top slide design and blends them together for a fantastic new everyday carry automatic from Microtech Knives. The double edge and top slide combination also make this Dirac fully ambidextrous, perfect for right or left-handed users. This Signature version comes with antique bronze handles and an Apocalyptic Bronze M390 double edge blade with one fully serrated edge.
Brand new, direct from Microtech Knives, USA.
Blade: The double edge blade has two razor sharp cutting edges, one plain and one fully serrated, for the best of both worlds. A bronze anodized, blasted and tumbled “Apocalyptic” finish offers functional style, hiding wear and being discreetly non-reflective. Double action automatic operation is fast, smooth, and reliable. Move the thumb slide up to deploy and down to retract. An internal spring remains at rest in both the open and closed position to reduce wear.
Handle: Smooth, contoured 6061-T6 aluminum delivers a comfortable, ergonomic grip with handsome antiqued bronze finish for visual appeal. Several sections of jimping on the outside edge provide traction in hand. Proprietary bronze hardware, glass breaker end and serialized pocket clip complete the construction.
Carries via a tip-down stainless steel deep carry clip.
Bohler M390: Bohler M390 has become an extremely popular choice for high-end user grade knives thanks to its extreme edge retention. M390 also has a good corrosion resistance, meaning most users can avoid problems by simply wiping off their blade after each use. Another great feature of this steel is its ability to resist burr formation during sharpening. Comparable steels are CTS-204P and Duratech 20CV.
